Conditions we treat

OCD

Intrusive thoughts and the rituals used to quiet them can be exhausting. There is a clear way forward.

What is ocd?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder involves unwanted, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviours or mental acts (compulsions) used to ease the distress they cause. It is not about being tidy. It can be distressing and time-consuming, and it is highly treatable.

Signs to look for

Recurring, unwanted intrusive thoughts
Strong urge to repeat actions or checks
Need for symmetry, order or reassurance
Rituals that take up significant time
Distress when routines are interrupted
Awareness the thoughts are excessive

When to seek help

It may be time to seek help if obsessions or compulsions take up more than an hour a day, cause real distress, or interfere with work, study or relationships. Early support tends to make treatment easier.

You do not have to wait until it is unbearable.

Reaching out early usually makes things easier, not harder. A first conversation is simply a chance to understand your options, with no pressure.
